Although high-entropy metal chalcogenides are attractive candidates for energy conversion and catalysis, their stability under high pressure is not well understood. Here, a combination of electron microscopy, elemental analysis and electron diffraction with machine learning shows that compression and pressure-annealing of the (MnFeCuAgZnCd)S wurzite leads to exsolution of a chemically distinct jalpaite.
