Tpt1 family proteins are highly conserved and play essential roles in nucleic acid phosphate transfer in an NAD + -dependent manner. Here, the authors present several crystal structures of TkoTpt1 and reaffirm the two-step catalytic mechanism of the Tpt1-catalyzed reactions.
