Unconventional high-harmonic generation in resonant membrane metasurfaces

High-harmonic generation from metasurfaces is believed to follow conventional power laws with integer exponents. In this work, authors discover that the strong local fields related to a metasurface high-Q resonances can modify the effective nonlinear response and enable the generation of high harmonics following non-integer-power laws.

Plasmonic biosensor enabled by resonant quantum tunnelling

Exploiting resonant quantum electron tunnelling empowered by an optically resonant, doubly periodic plasmonic nanowire metasurface, a biosensor with no external light source is demonstrated, boosting the integrability of the biosensor.

Experimental observation of topological Z₂ exciton-polaritons in transition metal dichalcogenide monolayers

In this work light and matter have been coupled in a strong interaction between exciton resonances and topological photonic bands. The authors herein demonstrate a Z2 spin-Hall topological polaritonic phase enabling new coupling schemes in valleytronics and spintronics.
