Epidemiology of yellow fever suggests that other flaviviruses may provide some level of cross-protection. Here the authors show in a non-human primate model that pre-existing dengue-2 or Zika virus immunity results in lower yellow fever viremia compared to naïve animals, limiting the transmission potential by Aedes aegypti mosquitoes.
