A group of plant receptor-like kinases (LysM-RLKs) with high affinity for short-chain chitooligosaccharides and lipo-chitooligosaccharides (LCOs), play a complementary role in arbuscular mycorrhiza establishment with a sister group of LysM-RLKs specifically recognising LCOs.
