Designing water resistant high entropy oxide materials

Zhang et al. report an entropy engineering approach to design water-resistant oxide catalysts, (Ni_0.2Mg_0.2Cu_0.2Zn_0.2Co_0.2)Cr₂O₄. This material shows excellent water resistance (>100 h) for C₃H₆ oxidation while other binary oxides deactivate within 20 h.

Light-induced Kondo-like exciton-spin interaction in neodymium(II) doped hybrid perovskite

The Kondo effect usually refers to increased electrical resistance in metals due to spin-spin interactions between localized magnetic impurities and conduction electrons. Here the authors report a Kondo-like coupling between a light-induced exciton and localized impurity spins in Nd-doped hybrid perovskite.

Aberrant EGFR activation is commonly found in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Here the authors show that E3 ubiquitin ligase FBXL2 targets EGFR and EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI)-resistant mutants for proteasome-mediated degradation to inhibit EGFR-driven NSCLC growth and TKI resistance.
