Cancer cells can utilize the lymph node transportation network to disseminate. Here, the authors show that breast cancer can alter the lymphatic endothelial cells (LECs) in the sentinel lymph nodes and that Matrix Gla protein is upregulated in LECs, which in turn promotes cancer cell adhesion.
