There has been much interest in the assembly and properties of metal–organic frameworks. Here, a new type is described in which an infinite three-dimensional polycatenane is assembled from a discrete octahedral nanocage through the interlocking of all its six vertices.

Dihydroartemisinic acid dehydrogenase-mediated alternative route for artemisinin biosynthesis

Semi-synthesis of artemisinin has been achieved by autooxidation of dihydroartemisinic acid (DHAA), but DHAA supply relies on chemical synthesis from artemisinic acid. Here, authors report the identification of dihydroartemisinic acid dehydrogenase from Artemisia annua and its engineering for DHAA bioproduction in yeast.
