Complex behaviours of spin systems, such as self-organizing or chaotic oscillations, can be understood through nonlinear dynamics, enabling a wide range of applications in spin masers, time crystals and quasi-crystals, and precision measurement. Here the authors investigate the coupled dynamics of a collection of spins with multiple Larmor frequencies and reveals much richer stable dynamical phases, including quasi-periodic orbits and chaos, in addition to the usual limit cycles.
