Liu, Hao et al. examine the association between white matter hyperintensities (WMH) in patients with moyamoya disease and cognition. Findings reveal that an increase in WMH is associated with multiple cognitive declines and that the quantitative increase of periventricular WMH is associated with the occurrence of long-term ischemic events.
