The integral membrane protein smim4 modulates redox balance via malate compartmentalization in pancreatic cancer

Metabolic compartmentalization changes are common in cancer, but their mechanisms remain unclear. Here, the authors show that low expression of the integral membrane protein SMIM4 in pancreatic cancer reshapes malate metabolism and promotes survival under glucose deprivation and RSL3-induced toxicity.

Geometry-driven polar antiferromagnetic metallicity in a double-layered perovskite cobaltate

Cobalt ions in different sublayers of the double-layered Ruddlesden–Popper perovskite Sr₃Co₂O₇ are found to develop inequivalent ionic displacements, geometrically generating a polar state while preserving metallic conductivity and exhibiting antiferromagnetism.
