Chiral polypeptide hydrogels regulating local immune microenvironment and anti-tumor immune response

The impact of chemical chirality on immune response attracts attention in cancer vaccine design recently. Here this group reports the chirality of poly(γ-ethyl-D-glutamate)-based hydrogel exhibiting higher levels of suppression on antigen-presenting cells and inducing stronger T cell exhaustion than L-Gel eventually leading to insufficient anti-tumor efficacy.

Ultra-durable cell-free bioactive hydrogel with fast shape memory and on-demand drug release for cartilage regeneration

Achieving successful in vivo cartilage regeneration remains challenging. Here they present a cell-free, multiple hydrogen-bond crosslinked hydrogel loaded with tannic acid and Kartogenin with ultra-durable mechanical properties and stage-dependent drug release behavior to promote cartilage regeneration.

Tension-induced directional migration of hepatic stellate cells potentially coordinates liver fibrosis progression
