We developed a genome-wide allele-specific methylation framework using long-read sequencing to characterize intergenerational epigenetic inheritance in mice. This framework revealed non-Mendelian inheritance, including emergent epialleles, imprinting events and paramutation, in a non-transgenic mammalian genome.
