Spin excitations and flat electronic bands in a Cr-based kagome superconductor

The authors find low-energy magnetic excitations and a flat band near the Fermi level in kagome metal superconductor CsCr3Sb5 by angle-resolved photoemission and resonant inelastic X-ray scattering. They suggest that the flat band plays a role in the emergence of charge/magnetic order at low temperatures.

Flat-band enhanced antiferromagnetic fluctuations and superconductivity in pressurized CsCr₃Sb₅

The authors theoretically investigate the spin fluctuations and superconducting instabilities in the kagome phase of CsCr₃Sb₅ under high pressure. They find that incipient flat bands play a role in enhancing antiferromagnetic fluctuations, which in turn mediate the competing s-wave and d-wave superconducting ordering.

Crystal-symmetry-paired spin–valley locking in a layered room-temperature metallic altermagnet candidate

Spin-split bands and certain lattice symmetries are required to generate the spin currents needed for spintronics applications. Now a layered room-temperature antiferromagnet is shown to exhibit anisotropic spin splitting between valleys paired by a crystal symmetry.

A new Majorana platform in an Fe-As bilayer superconductor

Iron-pnictide superconductors share similar topological band structure with iron-chalcogenide superconductors, but no Majorana modes have been observed in the former.
