Dynamics of polarization-tuned mirror symmetry breaking in a rotationally symmetric system

In a SO(2) rotationally symmetric system, a general polarization-tuned mirror symmetry breaking mechanism was reported to highly efficiently generate a lateral optical force, enriching the optical manipulation mechanism for mirror-symmetric objects.

Photocatalytic C-N coupling from stable and transient intermediates for gram-scale acetamide synthesis

This study explores N–heterocyclic carbene copper complexes toward selective electrocatalytic reduction of acetylene to ethylene. The electron–rich copper sites were found to facilitate acetylene adsorption and ethylene desorption and achieved high activity and selectivity for ethylene production.

2D Cd metal contacts via low-temperature van der Waals epitaxy towards high-performance 2D transistors

The fabrication of ohmic electrical contacts for 2D semiconductor devices remains an important challenge towards their industrialization. Here, the authors report the low-temperature van der Waals epitaxial growth of ultrathin Cd electrodes for 2D MoS₂ transistors, showing improved contact resistance and mobility.

The CREB coactivator CRTC2 controls hepatic lipid metabolism by regulating SREBP1

Studies in mice reveal that CREB regulated transcription coactivator 2 (CRTC2) acts as a mediator of mTOR signalling in the liver to regulate SREBP1-controlled lipid homeostasis during feeding and diabetes; overexpression of a CRTC2 mutant defective for mTOR regulation improves the lipogenic program and insulin sensitivity in obese mice.
