We thank Dr Panigrahi for their comment on our published article [1]. Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has been using the dose of antibiotics as described in the paper since the 1990s in line with Trust policy and approved by the local Drugs and Therapeutics committee as appropriate dosage. This pre-dates the ESCRS Endophthalmitis study.

Notably 5 cases required a repeat intravitreal injection which was in conjunction with pars plana vitrectomy and did not require modification to their empirical antibiotic treatment regime; and a review of antibiotic sensitivity profiles revealed no reported resistance to either intravitreal Amikacin or intravitreal Vancomycin in this cohort.
