Bicyclo[2.2.2]oct-2-yne (10), pentacyclo[5.5.0.04,11.05,9.08,12]dodec-2-yne (13), and pentacyclo [6.4.0.03,7.04,12.06,11] dodec-9-yne (6) underwent reaction with 2,5-bis(methoxycarbonyl)−3,4-diphenylcyclopentadienone (16) to generate trapped products 11, 14, and 15, respectively.
