Reaction conditions were as follows: 1 (0.2 mmol, 1.0 equiv), 2 (0.36 mmol, 1.8 equiv), NiBr₂·DME (0.02 mmol, 10 mol%), L9 (0.026 mmol, 13 mol%), NaI (0.1 mmol, 0.5 equiv), 2-MeTHF (1.0 mL), Ar, −20 °C. Isolated yields. The ee values were determined by HPLC analysis on a chiral stationary phase.
