A child is considered vaccinated if the rotavirus vaccine was administered >=14 days at the time of hospital admission. *Unconditional logistic regression used to calculate adjusted vaccine effectiveness. Models that included age of the child in months at the time of hospital admission and maternal education (categorical) changed the adjusted odds ratio by >5% and were therefore included in the final model. Sex, birth month, birth year, month of admission, year of admission, socioeconomic variables and variables of household characteristics were not included in the final model.
