As for gender, males are coded as 1 and females as 2. As for position, general manager or higher are coded as 5, deputy general manager and department manager 4, assistant manager 3, clerk 2, and others below clerk as 1. As for education, “below high school diploma” level is coded as 1, “community college” level as 2, “bachelor’s” level as 3, and “master’s degree or more” level is coded as 5.
