Identification and characterization of two functional variants in the human longevity gene FOXO3

FOXO3 is one of the few established longevity genes. Here, the authors fine-map the FOXO3-longevity association to two intronic SNPs and, using luciferase assays and EMSAs, show that these SNPs affect binding of transcription factors CTCF and SRF and associate with FOXO3 expression.

Interferometric single-shot parity measurement in InAs–Al hybrid devices

A device architecture based on indium arsenide–aluminium heterostructures with a gate-defined superconducting nanowire allows single-shot interferometric measurement of fermion parity and demonstrates an assignment error probability of 1%.

Community assessment to advance computational prediction of cancer drug combinations in a pharmacogenomic screen

Resistance to first line treatment is a major hurdle in cancer treatment, that can be overcome with drug combinations. Here, the authors provide a large drug combination screen across cancer cell lines to benchmark crowdsourced methods and to computationally predict drug synergies.
