Dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) typically requires cryogenic temperatures or moderate magnetic fields, limiting its practical applications. Here, the authors demonstrate efficient room-temperature polarization of 29Si nuclear spins in SiC using optically detected magnetic resonance, achieving significant polarization transfer even in the Earth’s magnetic field, potentially broadening DNP’s applicability in quantum technologies.
