Structural insights into cationic amino acid transport and viral receptor engagement by CAT1

CAT1 is a transporter involved in amino acid metabolism and a receptor for Friend murine leukemia virus (FrMLV). This study presents the cryo-EM structure of the mCAT1/frRBD complex, revealing how mCAT1’s structure determines viral tropism and host specificity.
