An integrate-and-fire artificial neuron combining a dynamic random-access memory and an inverter based on wafer-scale monolayer molybdenum disulfide films can emulate intrinsic plasticity, the photopic and scotopic adaptation of the human visual system, and achieve temporal information encoding.
