Peptidomimetic inhibitors of APC–Asef interaction block colorectal cancer migration

Adenomatous polyposis coli (APC) is shown to promote colorectal cancer cell migration by activating the guanine nucleotide exchange factor Asef. Structure-based design resulted in the development of peptidomimetic inhibitors that disrupted APC–Asef interactions.

Dimensionality-dependent electronic and vibrational dynamics in low-dimensional organic-inorganic tin halides

The study shows that tuning organic–inorganic tin halides from 2D to 1D significantly enhances coupling between excitons and lattice vibrations, thereby switching emission from free excitons to self-trapped states. Ultrafast spectroscopy identifies the key electronic and vibrational dynamics.

Architecture of the human KICSTOR and GATOR1–KICSTOR complexes

Teng and Zeng et al. use cryo-electron microscopy to show that the crescent scaffold of KICSTOR anchors GATOR1 to lysosomes and disruption of the interaction causes mTORC1 hyperactivation and TFE3 mislocalization. KICSTOR enables nutrient-dependent mTORC1 regulation by binding anionic lipids for lysosomal targeting.

Universal growth of perovskite thin monocrystals from high solute flux for sensitive self-driven X-ray detection

Liu et al. report a universal solution growth method for perovskite thin monocrystals by improving the mass transfer in the high solute flux system. The approach is applied to 29 types of perovskites with growth velocity up to 27.2 µm min^-1 and enables efficient self-driven X-ray detectors.

Structure of the DDB1-AMBRA1 E3 ligase receptor complex linked to cell cycle regulation

AMBRA1 functions as a substrate receptor for E3 ubiquitin ligase complexes to promote ubiquitination and degradation of Cyclin D. Here the authors demonstrated the structure of AMRBA1 in complex with DDB1. Disruption of intermolecular interactions caused deregulation of cell cycle and DNA damage repair.
