Uncontrollable volume expansion hinders alloy anodes in Na-ion batteries. Here, authors demonstrate in situ-formed C-N anchors embedded in Sn-based electrodes. This structure enables self-reconstruction and viscoelastic interphases, achieving long-cycle stability over 7000 cycles with high capacity.
