Ultra-coherent meta-emitter tailors arbitrary thermal wavefront

Wavefront control is inherently incompatible with thermal incoherence in general. To address this challenge, the authors propose a meta-emitter architecture featuring two tailored grooves interconnected by a waveguide tunnel enabling the conversion of thermal photons into coherent surface waves, thereby experimentally demonstrating feasible thermal wavefront manipulation— including thermal self-focusing and holography.

Magnetic–acoustic biphysical invisible coats for underwater objects

In this paper, the authors present an ultrathin compound metamaterial coat that could make underwater objects simultaneously invisible from the detection of both magnetic field and acoustic wave. miR-22 has a potent anti-tumour role with therapeutic potential in acute myeloid leukaemia

Mir-22 has been shown to be an oncogenic microRNA in breast cancer and myelodysplastic syndrome. Here, the authors show that mir-22 functions as a tumour suppressor in de novoacute myeloid leukaemia by inhibiting the expression of several oncogenes and that restoring mir-22 expression suppresses AML progression.

Room-temperature broadband quasistatic magnetic cloak

In this work, the authors reported a three-dimensional room temperature quasistatic magnetic cloak using a ferromagnetic metallic bilayer structure by showing prominent cloaking effect in a wide frequency range from 5 to 250 kHz. The practical potential was also verified through a commercial handheld metal probe working at 25 kHz.

A transient thermal cloak experimentally realized through a rescaled diffusion equation with anisotropic thermal diffusivity

In this work, transformation optics technique was applied to the thermodynamic area by using the coordinate transformation to the time-dependent heat diffusion equation, which enables the manipulation of the heat flux by predefined diffusion paths. A transient thermal cloaking device engineered with effective thermal materials was experimentally demonstrated by hiding a centimeter-sized vacuum cavity. To facilitate the fabrication a rescaled heat equation taking into account of all the pertinent parameters of various ingredient materials was proposed to guide the practical design of complex transformed thermal devices.
