Mono-ADP-ribosyl transferase (mART) proteins, including exotoxin A (PE) from Pseudomonas aeruginosa are a family of virulence factors produced in various bacteria that promote pathogenesis. This study identifies new homologues through database mining and structural analysis, highlighting their potential for drug delivery applications and the role of horizontal gene transfer in their widespread distribution.
