Single iron atoms on nitrogen-doped carbon catalysts are a promising alternative to platinum for the oxygen reduction reaction on fuel cell cathodes, but commonly suffer from low stability. Here an in situ chemical vapour deposition synthetic approach is presented, enabling high iron active site dispersion and reducing surface porosity, which mitigates demetallation and carbon corrosion, ensuring high activity and stability.

There is an unmet medical need for endometrial cancer patients with mismatch-repair proficient disease. Anti-HER2 therapy has revolutionized the treatment of HER2-positive breast cancer. However, HER2 has emerged as a driver of various other cancers and the indications for HER2-targeted therapy have expanded to include diverse HER2-overexpressing as well as HER2-mutant tumour types beyond breast cancer, facilitated by the advent of novel agents with greater potency and distinct mechanisms of action. Some of these agents have demonstrated promising activity even against HER2-low cancers. Herein, Yoon and Oh describe the landscape of HER2 alterations and HER2-targeted drug development beyond breast cancer. They also discuss new insights into mechanisms of resistance and potential strategies by which they might be overcome.

Doping strategies have been shown to stabilize the active platinum-nickel (PtNi) catalyst in fuel cells, however, the atomistic mechanism is less known. Here, the authors identify the roles of Mo and Au dopants in improving the durability of a PtNi nanowire catalyst for fuel cells.

As presented at the ESMO Congress 2025: In patients with locally advanced or metastatic solid tumours, including mesothelioma, treatment with a first-in-class inhibitor of the Hippo−YAP−TEAD pathway was safe and led to encouraging clinical response rates in patients with mesothelioma.

Results from this single-arm cohort of the BFAST trial showed that the clinical efficacy of entrectinib in patients with ROS1-positive NSCLC, selected using liquid biopsies, is consistent with that seen in previous reports where patients were selected using tissue-based testing methods.
