How to get the best out of Nature Index?
Check your institution's profile and see how its research output compares to other institutions globally, domestically, in its sector and in different subject areas. Filter the research output tables by region, country/territory, sector and subject area to identify other institutions to best benchmark against.
On the institution benchmarking page, add up to nine other institutions to compare your institutions research output against over the past 5 years. You can view overall research output as well as the research output in each subject area. Download the data from the tables in CSV format.
In many cases, the highest quality science comes from collaborating. Nature Index collaborations highlight the most fruitful institutional collaborations that lead to high quality research around the world. Naturally, proximate institutions collaborate the most, which hides the many benefits from collaboration further afield. To address this, the overall leading international collaborators are shown as well as the leading collaborations involving countries/territories outside the top 50 (broadening collaborators).
Additionally, on institution profile pages, jump to the Collaboration section to see domestic and international collaboration relationships. The collaborations are determined by the total Share of the two institutions on papers published together.
The Nature Research Intelligence Topics are created from networks of articles that cite each other, or articles that are very similar to each other, and we have over 40,000 topics at the most granular level, grouped into a 4-level hierarchy. On the Nature Index we show topics from the 2nd level of the hierarchy that have enough articles to provide insights on the topic.
