Leading country/territory collaborators

Time frame: 1 June 2025 - 30 May 2026

Nature Index collaborations highlight fruitful collaborations that lead to high quality research around the world. Naturally, factors such as proximity and language can influence collaboration, which hides the many benefits from collaboration further afield. To address this, we've also shown collaborations between regions and equatorial hemispheres.

A collaboration can be between any two countries/territories co-authoring at least one article in the publications tracked by the Nature Index. The collaboration score (CS) between two countries/territories is the sum of the publications (by Share) to which both have contributed. The tables below list the leading collaborators based on their combined CS. Filtering the tables by the same region or equatorial hemisphere will generate a list of the leading collaborators within that region or equatorial hemisphere, while filtering by different regions or equatorial hemispheres will generate the leading collaborators between those regions or equatorial hemispheres. Click on the chart icon in the 'Historical' column to view annual collaboration trends between those countries/territories.
