Analysis reveals a strong positive correlation between national income levels and policy adoption, indicating that economic development facilitates environmental regulation. Furthermore, differences in soil-focused policies between neighbouring countries account for nearly half of observed cross-border soil erosion discontinuities, emphasising the spatial impact of policy harmonisation on landscape integrity.
