Recent studies have employed comprehensive metabolomic profiling to elucidate glycoside accumulation during root development of a key medicinal herb. Untargeted liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry analysis revealed over 400 distinct metabolites, including numerous glycosides with stage‐specific expression patterns. Mapping these compounds onto metabolic pathways identified clusters of glycosylated flavonoids and phenylethanoid glycosides that increase during maturation. Network analysis highlighted candidate glycosyltransferases and associated enzymatic cascades responsible for the final assembly of complex glycosides. These findings provide a systems‐level view of how medicinal plants regulate glycoside biosynthesis in relation to developmental cues and quality control metrics for herbal preparations.
