Emphasis on cross‐cultural validation and digital administration has broadened global applicability, enabling early detection and tailored interventions. Together, these measurement techniques form an integrated framework for reliable identification, severity assessment and longitudinal tracking of child anxiety across diverse populations.

A cross‐sectional study conducted during the COVID-19 pandemic applied a parent-reported screening tool to assess anxiety-related symptoms in almost 800 children and adolescents in a Middle Eastern country. Findings indicated that one third of participants scored above the clinical threshold, with logistic regression revealing that parental divorce, low household income and middle scholastic grade level were significant predictors of elevated anxiety. This work highlights the utility of standardised screening questionnaires in large-scale epidemiological surveillance and underscores the influence of sociodemographic factors on anxiety prevalence.

Technical terms
