Analysis of indigenous and non-indigenous cohorts showed minimal differences in overall activity patterns, suggesting that universal barriers—such as lack of safe play spaces and competing academic pressures—are overriding factors. These data have underpinned calls for community-based programmes that prioritise structured physical activity opportunities within daily routines and tailored support to overcome environmental constraints.
