E-Learning Management and Implementation in Higher Education

Recent investigations have focused on the design, development and iterative refinement of Individual Digital Study Assistants (IDSAs) to support student autonomy and organisational skills. One study established a framework of functional and technical requirements for IDSAs through expert interviews and student surveys, informing a prototype that was tested in workshop settings and enhanced across successive iterations. Another project employed action design research to develop an IDSA that integrates personalised recommendations, peer-matching features and feedback on learning behaviours, drawing on data from over a thousand student users to validate usability and effectiveness. Complementing these system-centred approaches, a cross-sectional survey examined e-learning satisfaction, stress levels, quality of life and coping strategies among university students in the aftermath of pandemic restrictions. Findings highlighted the influence of social presence, demographic factors and coping mechanisms on user satisfaction, emphasising the need for holistic support structures that address psychological as well as technical aspects of digital learning environments.
