Summary

Embedding social-behavioural research and community advisory mechanisms has proven essential in tailoring protocols, refining communication strategies and fostering mutual accountability. Through global collaboration and local empowerment, these trials not only generate robust efficacy data but also strengthen health systems, build scientific capacity and help chart the path to a world free of HIV.
