Recent studies have examined the interplay of attitudinal and competence-based factors in driving ICT integration among in-service teachers. An analysis of nearly seven hundred educators in a large Chinese province applied a combined Technology Acceptance Model and Will-Skill-Tool framework to explore how attitudes, self-efficacy, digital competence and tool utilisation predict actual integration. The work revealed that each element exerted a direct influence on digital adoption, with attitudes and competence acting as key mediators. Demographic variables such as age, gender and teaching experience were shown to moderate these relationships, highlighting particular needs for targeted professional learning for early-career and mid-career instructors. The findings point towards the design of differentiated training pathways and resource allocations that align with teachers’ evolving digital profiles.
