Pituitary metastasis represents a rare but clinically significant manifestation of systemic malignancy, most frequently arising from breast and lung primaries. Surgical debulking via a transsphenoidal route may relieve mass effect and establish histological diagnosis, while radiotherapy and systemic therapies—ranging from conventional chemotherapy to targeted agents—aim to control residual disease and improve quality of life. Advances in molecular profiling and imaging have refined diagnostic accuracy and enabled personalised treatment strategies, although overall prognosis remains guarded, with median survival measured in months. Ongoing research continues to elucidate optimal sequencing of interventions and to explore novel agents capable of crossing the blood–brain barrier.
