Circularly polarized light typically requires mirror-asymmetric materials. Here, authors demonstrate that achiral nanostructures with locally chiral electromagnetic fields can produce highly elliptical circularly polarized emission from ordinary luminophores, achieving dissymmetry factors approaching the theoretical limit.
