Harding et al. investigate the relationship between dialysis preparedness and access to transplant care. Their findings suggest that more than half of U.S. adults initiate dialysis in a sub-optimal way with a lower likelihood of then being referred to and evaluated at a transplant center, ultimately reducing access to lifesaving transplant.
