Summary

Aggressive periodontitis is a severe form of periodontal disease characterised by rapid attachment loss and bone destruction in otherwise healthy individuals, often presenting in a molar-incisor distribution. Host-modulation therapies and regular supportive maintenance are increasingly recognised as essential to long-term stability. Public health strategies must prioritise education, access to care and epidemiological surveillance to mitigate the global impact of this destructive disease form.
