Recent studies have leveraged functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) to elucidate the neural underpinnings of emotional language processing in high and low-expressed emotion contexts. Findings reveal attenuated activation in classical language centres and disrupted deactivation in medial prefrontal regions during high-criticism stimulations among patients.
