Recent advances have introduced digital screening applications and network modelling of symptom interactions, enabling finer discrimination between core and peripheral symptoms across demographic groups. Management approaches combine behavioural interventions, notably cognitive behavioural therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) and sleep hygiene education, with adjunctive physical measures such as mattress modification and exercise. Pharmacological treatments, including short-acting hypnotics and emerging chronobiotic agents, are reserved for specified indications and are monitored for efficacy and side effects via electrophysiological markers. A growing emphasis on personalised care has led to tailored combinations of digital therapeutics, behavioural coaching and environmental adjustments. Globally, integrated care pathways that link primary, specialist and community services are being piloted to improve access and adherence.
