Polariton condensate far-detuned from exciton resonance in WS₂ bound states in the continuum

The authors show that exciton–polaritons—hybrid particles of light and matter—can be controlled in ways pure photons cannot, even when only a tiny amount of exciton character is present. In ultrathin WS₂, indirect emission feeds the polaritons and enables condensation at room temperature.
