Reservoir artificial flood discharge is a critical driver for the compositional and functional shifts of dissolved organic matter in river mouth

During water release, rapid discharge of upper-layer water from Xiaolangdi Reservoir increased bio-labile dissolved organic matter at the Yellow River mouth, while sediment flushing resuspended bottom sediments and enhanced aromatic components, as shown by optical spectroscopy and isotope analysis.

Topological insulator nanostructures for near-infrared transparent flexible electrodes

Transparent conductive electrodes are widely used in modern optoelectronic devices, but they are rarely transparent in the near-infrared, limiting their use. Nanostructured bismuth selenide, a topological insulator, is now shown to be a flexible near-infrared transparent electrode.

Aharonov–Bohm interference in topological insulator nanoribbons

The existence of topological conducting surfaces on insulators has been demonstrated by angular photoemission spectroscopy, but the number of transport experiments on these systems have so far been scarce. Transport evidence of topological surface states is now shown in Bi₂Se₃ nanoribbons through the observation of Aharonov–Bohm oscillations.
